A New Approach

Yesteryear's working practices, behavioural patterns and industrial relations continue to provide the benchmark for many aspects of the Road Transport Industry. This is in sharp contrast to the Food Industry, which is subject to almost perpetual change driven by technological progress and ever-increasing hygiene standards. ART is a transport organisation that is mainly engaged in the Food Industry. We therefore recognise the need to continuously re-evaluate our operational effectiveness to ensure that these ever-changing demands are accommodated and fully satisfied throughout our operations.

Our change process commenced in 1999 when we adopted Grid The Power to Change® to support us in identifying opportunities to improve and maintain our overall effectiveness. The results include -

  • The emergence of a collaborative culture within ART that is responsive to change
  • Improved managerial and leadership quality
  • Enhanced teamwork effectiveness across all of our operations
  • A "can-do" spirit in response to customer demands
  • Employee / staff willingness to embrace change
  • Maintained competitive advantage in our markets
  • Improved working relationships with our customers
  • Improved internal and external conflict resolution
  • Continuous corporate growth since 2000
  • On-going critique of our effectiveness built into our operations processes
