Our experienced and highly trained Traffic Planning Teams are able to effectively deploy our key resources (drivers, trucks, and trailers), and quickly resolve any operational difficulties in a manner that ensures full achievement of our customers delivery requirements.

Traffic DeskPractically all of the products carried by our fleet are subject to stringent scheduled loading and delivery times, although the in-transit carriage times may be limited by the requirement for Product freshness. We have formulated a uniquely comprehensive approach to this function, the notable elements of which are:-

  • Operations / Traffic Managers located at each of the company's main operating centres.
  • A central Traffic Planning Desk operated from our Liverpool office by a dedicated team of skilled Traffic Planners on a 24 hour- 7 day basis.
  • A bespoke Traffic Diary database is available in real-time throughout a Wide Area Network connected to our Central File Servers via a series of dedicated DSL connectivity.
  • Cellular communications and GPRS satellite tracking fitted throughout the fleet.

This structure enables Abbey to provide our customers with real-time, individual load consignment management. Thus we can ensure that any potential deviation from Customer collection and delivery schedules is identified and communicated in a prompt and pro-active manner.

The positioning of our Traffic Management Staff at, or in close proximity to, our key Customers' facilities, enables us to work closely with our customers and build relationships that are based upon professionalism, and our commitment to win / win performance levels.
