Company Announcement - May 2009
In the context of a major strategic review of our corporate and functional objectives, the ART Board has resolved to pursue accreditation to both ISO 14001 (Environment), and ISO 18001 (Health & Safety) within the coming twelve months. This decision has resulted in a formal restructuring of our Senior Managements roles and responsibilities in order to facilitate the timely achievement and implementation of the new standards. In the first of these notable changes, we are very pleased to announce the appointment of Steve Granite, ACMA, to the position of Managing Director. Steve, 29, has been with ART for the past thirteen years, during which time he achieved his professional accountant qualifications. He has held the positions of Finance Director and Company Secretary since 2004, and is fully conversant with all aspects of the Company's functions and operations. Steve will bring a new perspective and vigor to our drive for excellence and high achievement. To coincide with this move, our Management Accountant, Paul Jamieson has been appointed Company Secretary. Twinned to this move our Board has charged Steve Lucy, our outgoing Managing Director, with responsibility to achieve the ISO 14001 and ISO 18001 standards is his new role as Director - Safety, Health, Environment and Quality. After 25 years service with ART Steve is uniquely positioned to lead this important initiative. His new appointment will enable him, unencumbered, to focus his attention and energy to the many challenges of this new position. Reporting to Steve and supporting him in his endeavors is Ian Clark, whose current role has been expanded to incorporate these functions accordingly. In the course of these developments, but not as a consequence of them, our Technical Director, Bernie Holland, has decided to retire from Company activities, effective July 3rd, 2009. Bernie has been a Director of Abbey Roadtanks Ltd. for the past six years during which he has given excellent service and technical direction to the Company. We expect that the many friends and professional associates Bernie has encountered throughout his various activities with us, will want to join us in wishing him continued good health, happiness, and contentment in the future. On foot of this we are pleased also to announce the appointment of Paul Grant as Manager of our Hull Depot, with immediate effect. Paul will assume full responsibility for all Hull based operations and associated activities. |
