Helping the local community - May 2009
HELPING THE LOCAL COMMUNITY - NOMINATED CHARITIES May 09
In times of economic uncertainty and recession, charities tend to suffer immensely as people and Corporate entities look to preserve spending as much as possible.
This is understandable and no different at Abbey Road Tanks (ART). However, as a business and group of individuals, it is our desire to increase support to Charities when they need it most! Therefore, we are pleased to announce our decision to nominate two Charities that we will support in the following ways;-
- We pledge to make monthly Corporate donations
- Support regular fund raising events organised by ART employees
- Company participation in Charity organised fund raising events
- Help raise awareness of our chosen charities to ART employees and the wider business community
- Setup Payroll giving scheme
- Joint promotions with the Charities
Zoe's Place Baby Hospice (Charity No. 1092545) - http://www.zoes-place.org.uk/
The first charity, Zöe's Place Baby Hospice provides respite and palliative terminal care for babies aged 0-5 with life limiting or life threatening conditions. The Hospice makes no charge to parents/carers and so the annual running costs (in excess of £750,000 per Hospice) must be raised solely through fundraising initiatives and generous donations.

Macmillan Cancer Support (Charity No. 0261017) - http://www.macmillan.org.uk/
Our other chosen Charity is Macmillan Cancer Support. Macmillan is a national charity which seeks to improve the lives of people affected by Cancer. They provide practical, medical and emotional support and push for better Cancer care.

We plan on holding several fund raising events throughout the year in order to support both Charities and we will involve all stakeholders of Abbey Road Tanks. Details of these events will be published on our website and we would urge you to support the Charities by getting involved.
