Abbey Roadtanks Achieve 0HSAS 18001 accreditation - April 2010
We are pleased to announce that Abbey Roadtanks has achieved registration to OHSAS 18001. OHSAS 18001 is the internationally recognised assessment standard and specification for occupational health and safety management systems which was developed by the leading trade and international standards and certification bodies. Abbey Roadtanks views its registration to OHSAS 18001 as one of the most significant landmarks in the company's history, and our Directors are proud of the efforts of its entire staff. From the personnel who have actively engaged in our Near Miss Reporting systems, to the members of the Safety Committees at our various sites, we have once again witnessed widespread improvements throughout the company and a culture which is refreshingly open and participative. Integrated Management Systems Our registration to ISO 9001 is long established and we have developed an Integrated Management System to encompass our Quality, Environmental and Health and Safety Management. This integrated approach has produced a set of documentation, policies, procedures and processes in one complete and cohesive framework. This is providing Abbey Roadtanks and its stakeholders with a clear, holistic picture of all aspects of our organization and how these aspects interact with each other. It is this approach that has informed our decision to refine and develop our Food Safety Management System through the ISO 22000 framework. We have a plan in place to undergo ISO 22000 assessment in the last quarter of the current year. By the end of 2010, it is envisaged that Abbey Roadtanks will have achieved registration to internationally recognised standards for all elements of its Management systems.
